Company History

1968 Hong Tai was founded to produce bare copper wires.
   
1971 Hwei-Lon plant was established to produce PVC wires.
   
1979 Hong Tai was evaluated as a class A manufacturer by
Industrial Development Bureau.
   
1986 Nan-Kang plant was established to produce XLPE cables.
   
1988 Hong Tai was evaluated as a class A manufacturer for 
producing XLPE cables by Industrial Development Bureau.
15KV and 25KV XLPE cables had passed the type test of Taiwan Power Company.
   
1989 Fire Resistant cable was approved by Bureau of Commodity Inspection & Quarantine.
Collaborated with MITSUBISHI Cable Industries, Ltd. on jointing,terminating and installation works of high voltage cables.
   
1990 69KV extra high voltage cables was approved 
by the type test of Taiwan Power Company.
Developed Low Smoke Non Halogen cables.
   
1991 Fire Resistant, Fire Retardant and T.H.W. 
cables were approved and purchased by Mass 
Rapid Transit Bureau.
   
1992 Kuan-Yin plant was established to produce communication cables.
   
1993 Securities were listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
   
1994 Communication cables in Kuan-Yin plant were certified by D.G.T.
Nan-Kang plant was granted the certification of ISO 9000.
Collaborated with MITSUBISHI Cable Industries, Ltd. on producing 161KV extra high voltage cable.
Invested Etron Technology Co., Ltd. and Safety Investment Corp.
   
1995 Kuan-Yin plant was granted the certification of ISO 9000.
   
1996 Invested Hontion International Co., Ltd.
   
1997 161KV XLPE cables had passed the tie line type test of Taiwan Power Company Kuan-Yin II plant was established to produce copper clad laminates and prepregs.
Invested Kingtech EMI Industrial Co., Ltd.
   
1998 Nan-Kang plant and Kuan-Yin plant were granted the certification of ISO 14001.
Collaborated with SUMITOMO Industrial, Ltd. on jointing, terminating and installation work of 69KV~161KV extra high voltage cable. Capital investment has reached NT$2,736,000,000.
   
1999 Collaborated with Fujikura Ltd. on 161KV extra high voltage XLPE cable production.
Capital investment reached NT 3,009,600,000.
   
2000 161KV XLPE cables had passed the transmision line type test of Taiwan Power Company.

    Organization

      There are five divisions in Hong Tai: electric power cable division, communication cable division, electronic material division, engineering division and investment division. To improve the efficiency and performance of our management, we will continue to operate as profit center for each division, as well as to strengthen our marketing channels.
